Following these steps below for the essential skin care routine to help create the foundation for a good and healthy skin care that produces results.
Skin Care Steps
To establish a skin care routine, we suggest booking a facial with an experienced, certified professional. Estheticians have the knowledge and training to prescribe professional treatments that enhance your results as well as educated guidance for your home skin care routine. To help you develop a healthy home skincare routine, we’ve compiled the essential steps to guide you.
Apply your skin care products in the following order for optimal results:
1. Cleanse | Twice per day, morning and night.
A good cleanse clears your skin of oil and debris that often lead to clogged pores and dullness. It also preps your skin for additional treatment, making it easier for to absorb the beneficial ingredients in the rest of your routine. Whether you choose an oil, balm, gel or cream cleanser will be determined by your skin type and the concerns.
2. Tone: Essence, Facial Mist or Toner | Twice per day, morning and night.
Toning finishes the cleansing process by conditioning your skin and adding beneficial vitamins and minerals to your complexion. Unlike alcohol-based toners of the past, today’s toners, essences and mists bolster the effectiveness of your cleanser by adding replenishing ingredients that uphold your skin’s health. Your cleanser and toner work together like shampoo and conditioner: Both steps help keep the skin as healthy as possible.
3. Exfoliate | Once or twice per week.
Exfoliating is important to boost healthy skin cell turnover, remove buildup and relieve pore congestion. Exfoliants can be either chemical, enzymatic or physical. Another option is a more potent peel or treatment which can be executed by a professional. We suggest consulting with your esthetician to find the best approach for your skin type and concerns.

4. Mask | Once or twice per week.
Masks provide additional assistance for your skincare concerns. Face masks contain high amounts of concentrated vitamins and nutrient-rich ingredients which absorb deep into the skin to improve it’s overall health. In addition to their hydrating and firming benefits, masks can be used to improve more pressing skin concerns like acne, large pores and dark spots.
5. Treat: Serum, Concentrate or Facial Oil | Twice per day, morning and night.
Your daily routine should include a serum, concentrate or facial oil. These potent formulas contain concentrated amounts of active ingredients to target skin concerns and counteract the effects of environmental stressors. The serum, concentrate or oil you choose will be determined by the concerns and conditions you hope to prevent or correct.
6. Moisturize | Twice per day, morning and night.
Hydrate and soften the skin with a moisturizer suited to your skin type. Even oily skins need a light moisturizer to keep skin soft and supple. Apply a layer of moisturizer over the entire face and neck area and leave on. For a lighter application, emulsify a small amount of moisturizer in your hand with a few drops of water. For extra hydration, apply a thicker layer in dry areas.
7. Eye Care | Twice per day, morning and night.
Some areas need a softer touch. The skin around your eye is seven times thinner than the rest of your face and therefore needs to be treated with special care. Routine eye cream application not only maintains the health, thickness and elasticity of this delicate area, it also improves the look of fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles and puffiness.

8. Protect/SPF | Daily, or as required.
The final and most critical step in every skin care routine is sun protection. Daily sunscreen application helps protect skin against the damaging rays that contribute to skin irritation, premature aging and skin cancer. All year long, make sure to apply a broad spectrum sunscreen or SPF moisturizer to shield your skin from damage.
9. Body Care | Daily, or as required.
Skin care doesn’t stop at your neck. The rest of your body can also show areas of discomfort depending on your skin type and skin concerns. Extend your skin care routine by applying nutrient-rich body products that keep your skin strong and healthy from head-to-toe.
